Celebrating Our 125th Anniversary with Cars & Coffee

“This is a casual gathering of car enthusiasts. All cars and everyone are welcome,” says Bobby Tanaka, who’s organizing the event with Russell Oto.

Meet us on Saturday, May 11, from 8:00 AM to 11 AM at the Buddhist Church of Sacramento’s main parking lot at 2401 Riverside Blvd.

Here’s what’s brewing:

  • Free coffee and pastries

  • No registration fee or car contests

  • An informal gathering of car enthusiasts and their cars, in other words, fun company!

  • For more information, please call (916) 446-0121.

As the Buddhist Church of Sacramento established itself as the second-oldest Shin Buddhist temple in North America in 1899, another feat took place across the country. Auto industry pioneer Alexander Winton made headlines driving his one-cylinder car from Cleveland to New York City in 47 hours – a record in 1899!

The temple and the car have come a long way. So, let’s celebrate!

Here’s the plan:

On Saturday, May 11, from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM, the Buddhist Church of Sacramento will celebrate our 125th anniversary with Cars & Coffee, a free event.
