ABA New Year’s Party
Mark your calendar for the ABA New Year’s Party on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at the Buddhist Church of Sacramento, 2401 Riverside Boulevard, Sacramento.
Dinner will be catered and refreshments are hosted.
Time: 5:00pm – 8:00pm
Price: $10.00 per person for new and renewing ABA members
$15.00 per person for non-members of ABA
$5.00 for children under 10 years of age

Rev. Yuki continues his Sacramento Buddhist School - Adult Study Class on the 4th Friday of each month. If you would like to join for the chanting and etiquette practice, please meet in the Main Hondo at 7:00 pm. If you would like to just attend the class, please come to Classroom 1 at 8:00 pm. To join virtually (at 8:00 pm), please email Rev. Yuki at yukisugahara10012022@buddhistchurch.org to obtain the Zoom link.

Join us for Tanoshimi-Kai, a weekly senior luncheon at the temple for seniors (60+) in partnership with Meals on Wheels. Meals for seniors are free with an optional donation and feature a rotation of Japanese inspired meals.

We started this special service with our Seniors in mind ~ a little less crowded and oduring the week. All ages are welcome! Please stay for refreshments and fellowship in Classrooms 1 & 4 immediately following service.

Sacramento Dharma no Kai with Rev. Yuki
Monthly class that focuses on the reading of Tannisho, a two-part work representing a compilation of teachings by Shinran. At each session, parts of Tannisho will be discussed with commentary from scholars. Class is conducted in Japanese.
Bodhi Day Service and Shotsuki Hoyo Service
On the first Sunday of every month, we observe a special memorial service known as Shotsuki Hoyo. This service is dedicated as a time to remember and express gratitude for our family members and friends who have passed away during the month of the year in which the service is held.

Start your day with the chanting of Shoshin Nembutsu-Ge (Shoshinge), Hymn of True Shinjin, and the Nembutsu, led by Rev. Yuki Sugahara. We meet in the Main Hondo; please join us afterward for coffee and fellowship in the Library.

Special Hoonko and 125th Anniversary Celebration is scheduled for Saturday, November 23, 2024 and replaces Sunday Dharma service on November 24. No service on November 24, 2024.

Special Saturday Service - Hoonko & 125th Anniversary service
Special Hoonko and 125th Anniversary Service with special guest speaker Rev. Kusunoki from the Seattle Betsuin. This will be a special program designed for our 125th Anniversary. Don’t forget, our 125th Anniversary Banquet later in the evening with doors opening at 5:00 PM.
The Saturday service is in lieu of Sunday Dharma service. There is no service on Sunday, November 24, 2024.
