Adult Organizations and Programs

Adult Buddhist Association

  • As an Affiliated Organization of the Sacramento Buddhist Church, ABA supports the programs, functions and activities of the Church.

Sacramento Buddhist Women’s Association

  • The mission of the SBWA is to serve and support the Buddhist Church of Sacramento and to promote a better understanding of the Jodo Shinshu teachings.

Sacramento Betsuin Choir

  • The Betsuin choir is an ensemble of individuals who love to sing and those who want to learn to sing. Sopranos, altos, tenors/baritones, and basses are the parts that comprise a choir.

Sakura Gakuen Japanese Language School

  • Sakura Gakuen Japanese Language School is a nonprofit school whose mission is to provide excellent Japanese language education for children and adults of diverse backgrounds.

Youth Organizations and Programs

Dharma School

  • The Buddhist Church of Sacramento Dharma School is an integral part of the mission of the Betsuin to propagate the teachings of Shinran Shonin, the founder of Jodo Shinshu Buddhism.

Jr. Young Buddhist Association (JYBA)

  • Jr. YBA is made up of high school-age youth (9th-12th graders), who get together to learn about the Dharma while having fun together.

Sports Program

  • The Sacramento Betsuin’s Sports Program currently features Youth Basketball, Family Bowling, and Youth Golf. The focus of our programs is fun and nurturing an understanding of fair play and sportsmanship.

Sakura Gakuen Japanese Language School

  • Sakura Gakuen Japanese Language School is a nonprofit school whose mission is to provide excellent Japanese language education for children and adults of diverse backgrounds.

Girl Scout Troop 569

  • Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. Established in 1992, the 569 Girl Scout Troop is among the largest and most active in the Sacramento area with over 100 girls, 15+ individual troops and 50+ leaders and volunteers.

Scouts BSA Troop 50B

  • Troop 50B is the full scouting experience, where boys have fun and adventure in the outdoors, give back to their community, develop moral character, and gain leadership experience.

Scouts BSA Troop 50G

  • Troop 50G is a Scouts BSA Troop for Girls ages 11-17 and grades 6-12 chartered by the Buddhist Church of Sacramento.

Cub Scouts Pack 50

  • Cub Scouts - Pack 50 is a non-profit program geared towards youth between 5 to 12 years of age. For over 50 years, we have continued to provide a quality scouting program to the youth of Sacramento with the support of our sponsoring organization and especially from parents and caregivers who give back to this youth program.
