Jr. Young Buddhist Association
The Jr. YBA is an affiliated organization of the Sacramento Buddhist Church made up of high school-age youth (9th-12th graders), who get together to learn about the Dharma while having fun together. Whether it is working together or learning together, Jr. YBA provides high schoolers with many leadership, social, and volunteering opportunities
About Us
Activities
Within Jr. Members volunteer to help at the temple and plan service activities for the community. Members also attend church conferences to meet people from other districts and learn more about Buddhism. We regularly attend the annual Central California conference in Fresno in November and the Coast District conference in March. Conferences are a great way to meet new people and learn new things.
All members are highly encouraged to attend the Sunday Dharma Service and participate in all activities. We host our annual Spaghetti Dinner in February which is always a lot of fun, and is our major fundraiser for the year.
We also have a year-end trip to Disneyland for all of the members who have worked hard the entire year.
Membership and Fees
All high-school enrolled youth are encouraged to join. Meetings typically take place after Service and Dharma School on Sundays.
