Together We Rise: United Against Hate

Join us on Saturday, September 21, 9:30 AM - 2 PM, at the Buddhist Church of Sacramento: We’ll kick off California’s United Against Hate Week by experiencing different cultures through food, music, art, and performances. Learn about resources to combat hate and ways to take action. Rimban Yuki Sugahara will provide opening remarks on unity, with Koichi Mizushima and Sharon Ito as co-hosts. A panel discussion will feature community leaders including retired Reverend Bob Oshita.

A cultural sensitivity training workshop primarily for high school students will be held from 9:30AM - 10:30 AM at the Buddhist Church of Sacramento. Learn about implicit bias, microaggressions, and what diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) means. A certificate will be issued upon completion ~ great for resume-building and college applications! To register, please call or text 916-750-8428 or email sep@accsv.org.

In addition, come and enjoy a variety of delicious food offerings from vendors, including Miss Dulcelicious, Emilyy Sweets, Tacos 34, Osaka-ya, S.E.A. Hut and more! Even our Temple Cooking Crew will be joining in on the festivities with Karaage Chicken Bowls and Tuna Poke Bowls which you can preorder here through 9/14/2024!
