Together We Rise: United Against Hate on Saturday, September 21, 9:30 AM - 2 PM, at the Buddhist Church of Sacramento: We’ll kick off California’s United Against Hate Week by experiencing different cultures through food, music, art, and performances. Learn about resources to combat hate and ways to take action. Rimban Yuki Sugahara will provide opening remarks on unity, with Koichi Mizushima and Sharon Ito as co-hosts. A panel discussion will feature community leaders including retired Reverend Bob Oshita.
A cultural sensitivity training workshop primarily for high school students will be held from 9:30AM - 10:30 AM at the Buddhist Church of Sacramento. Learn about implicit bias, microaggressions, and what diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) means. A certificate will be issued upon completion ~ great for resume-building and college applications!
