Compassion. Culture. Community.

Our 125th Anniversary

Founded in 1899, the Buddhist Church of Sacramento will celebrate its 125th Anniversary in 2024. While our history spans three centuries and the pace of our lives has, no doubt, changed, our core values remain firm and reassuring: Compassion. Culture. Community.

And so today, we celebrate Amida’s compassion, a culture influenced by Japanese immigrants, and our Shin Buddhist community strong, diverse, and ever-growing.

We invite you to explore the timeline of our temple history as we take our next steps together towards a bright and resilient future.

Our ideas come to life because of you
